Everything you need to know

A celebrant is a trained professional who creates and delivers personalised ceremonies for life's important moments. Unlike a registrar, a celebrant gives you complete creative freedom — there's no set script, no rigid format. I work with you to write a ceremony that truly reflects who you are, what you believe in, and what matters most to you. Please note that a celebrant-led wedding ceremony in England and Wales is not legally binding on its own, so you would also need a brief legal registration (which I can advise you on).
In England and Wales, celebrant-led weddings are not yet legally recognised in the same way as a registrar ceremony. Most couples choose to complete the legal paperwork separately — often a quick, simple visit to the register office before or after the main celebration. This actually gives you wonderful freedom: your ceremony with me can take place anywhere, at any time, without the constraints of legal requirements. I'm always happy to guide you through the process.
I'm based in Cornwall and regularly perform ceremonies across the entire South West — including Devon, Somerset, Dorset, and Wiltshire. Travel within Cornwall is included in all my packages. For locations further afield, a small travel supplement may apply. If you're unsure whether your venue falls within my area, just ask — I'm always happy to discuss.
Absolutely — and this is what makes my ceremonies truly unique! As a classically trained soprano with decades of professional performing experience, I can weave live vocal performances into any part of your ceremony. Whether it's a beautiful aria as you walk down the aisle, a heartfelt ballad during a reflective moment, or a joyful song to close the celebration, the music becomes a seamless part of the experience rather than a separate performance. We'll choose the perfect pieces together.
I recommend booking as early as possible, particularly for weddings during the popular summer months. Six to twelve months ahead is ideal for weddings, though I can sometimes accommodate shorter timescales. For naming ceremonies, vow renewals and memorial services, a few weeks to a couple of months is usually sufficient. The sooner we connect, the more time we have to craft something truly special.
The initial consultation is free and completely relaxed — usually over a cup of tea, a video call, or a phone chat. It's simply a chance for us to get to know each other. I'll listen to your ideas, answer your questions, and explain how I work. There's absolutely no obligation. If we're a good fit, we'll discuss next steps; if not, no hard feelings at all. It's important to me that you feel completely comfortable with your celebrant.
One of the greatest advantages of choosing a celebrant is the freedom to hold your ceremony absolutely anywhere — a clifftop overlooking the sea, a woodland clearing, your own back garden, or a favourite beach. There are no restrictions on location. I've conducted ceremonies in some of the most stunning spots across Cornwall and the South West, and I'm always thrilled to discover new ones. We'll simply need to consider practical elements like weather contingency and acoustics.
